Job Description: 

The Meridian Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) that serves Haywood and Buncombe Counties in North Carolina is planning to expand the team! 

We are looking for talented, caring and dedicated nursing staff to fill openings on the team.   ACTT is a service that provides community based psychiatric interventions and ongoing support 24/7/365.  The ideal candidates are people who have their nursing license and would like to be part of a high-fidelity team that serves individuals in their communities that struggle with severe mental illness.  The position is perfect for those individuals that want a challenge in their career.  You will work within a team composed of professionals that are committed to helping our clients meet their recovery goals.  The work can be stressful at times and the requirements demanding.  However, our team is supportive of each other and of the important work that we do.  We laugh a lot and there is always the opportunity for learning in the field.  If you want to work in the mental health field with a team recognized for its excellence and feel that you have the ability and skills to help others please come and be part of our expansion. 

The ACTT Nurse is responsible for assessing physical needs; making appropriate referrals to community physicians; providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist and providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation and support services.  Being able to be part of the "on call" rotation is an expectation.  Psychiatric experience preferred.

 Applicants must have:

  • a current RN or LPN license in NC,
  • a valid driver's license without violations or restrictions which could prevent completing all required job functions,
  • reliable transportation, and
  • flexibility and moderate computer skills.
