Job Description: 

Meridian Behavioral Health Services is seeking a Qualified Professional (QP) to join our Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) in Transylvania County. Meridian is excited to offer this new service in our Brevard office. SAIOP is an intensive substance abuse outpatient treatment program that provides comprehensive support to people in early recovery.  Individuals receive nine hours of group treatment weekly, plus individual counseling, case management and family counseling as needed.  The QP will support the clinical staff in providing group support as well as the individual case management and the operational needs of the program.

To qualify as a QP, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • an individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession;
  • a graduate of a college or university with a Master's degree in a human service field and has one year of full-time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full-time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling;
  • a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
  • a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling

Additionally, applicants must have at minimum:

  • a valid driver's license with no restrictions,
  • reliable transportation, and
  • flexibility and moderate computer skills.
