Clinician- DSS Assessor

Job Description: 

Meridian Behavioral Health Services is seeking a part-time DSS Assessor.  The DSS Assessor is a licensed or license-eligible clinician who provides assessment, referral and follow-up support services to individuals who are either involved with the Department of Social Services or have been deemed in need of a comprehensive clinical assessment that are not affiliated with another Meridian program where such services can be delivered.  The DSS Assessor strives to meet the assessment and follow-up needs of individuals designated as part of a specialized population that falls outside of other Meridian programs.   Individual must have  LCAS or LCASA license to provide specialized substance use assessments.  This position will also be working in Polk, Henderson and Rutherford Counties, so willingness to to travel and ability to work independently are a must.  

The DSS Assessor will be responsible for:

  • Providing services to individuals who are Work First applicants, H or I felons applying/or Food Stamps or parents/caretakers of children involved with Child Protective Services,
  • Functioning as a member of the DSS Assessment team as well as an "adjunct" member of the REC team; Function as member of larger team of Meridian services, both adult and child

  • Promoting the recovery culture of the organization, and

  • Contributing to the fiscal, clinical and administrative integrity of the service by engaging in personal practice management.

    Applicants must have:

  • a valid driver's license with no restrictions,
  • reliable transportation,
  • flexibility,
  • moderate computer skills, and
  • a Master's degree and be licensed or license eligible.
